An account of nine young Sydney artists who painted in Woolloomooloo, the inner city and the Hawkesbury area – Emu Plains, Richmond and especially Windsor. The Group had been Fred Leist students at the National Art School (now East Sydney Technical College) in the convict built Darlinghurst Gaol in the 1930’s. They mounted their first exhibition in 1939 at the NSW Teachers Federation Hall in Phillip Street Sydney.

Nearly fifty years later the Hawkesbury Shire Council, through their Community Arts Officer, Ellen Manning, decided to ask the Group to organise a Retrospective on the 7th October 1988 (The Bi-Centenary Year) at the Shire Cultural Centre Windsor.

Hardcover, 48pgs. Very good, jacket with small tear.
