Details

Canberra Sketchbook gives a series of fascinating glimpses into the city's past, present, and future. One of the four world capitals which was actually planned from the ground up, Canberra's comparatively short history is full of interest. The older buildings are survivals from a past in which settlers tried to reproduce aristocratic England in the Antipodes, and some of the newer ones have stories as intriguing as that of the church which was once a railway station and the offices which are known as 'Malfunction Junction.'

Peter Luck's concise and lively text is packed with illuminating anecdotes about Canberra's foundation, growth, and future plans, and Unk White's vigorous sketches show both well-known and little-known aspects of the city.

Hard Cover, 62pgs. Very good except jacket slightly damaged. .
